I never knew bread could taste so good.
When my wife got this, I thought it was going to be just another gadget, used for a couple of weeks, and then left to gather dust! How wrong I was. The first loaf we made was made by me(I love gadgets!)I made a malted brown granery loaf. This takes 5 hours on the whole wheat program, so a bit of a wait but well worth it.Fresh warm granery bread with some smoked salmon-wonderful. Since the time we have had the machine(3 months) we have tried every combination of bread(walnut&raisin is to die for!)(the machine has a built in raisin/nut dispenser). All the recipes work billiantly. We have experimented with various doughs, and have not had a disappointment yet. On average we bake 2 loaves a week. We got the panasonic because my sister had one, and we were very impressed by her bread. I have tried bread made by cheaper bread makers, and to be honest, they arnt so good. Some are quite "yeasty" whilst others seem to produce a very heavy, almost "cakey" loaf. The good points about the Panasonic is it has a large number of programms-from basic white loaf to italian breads such as olive and passata ciabatta!Nothing about this machine is gimicky. It is rather larger than some breadmakers, but then does have the capacity for making a 600g loaf.If there is a bad point, its that the average loaf takes 4 hrs, however a "bake rapid" program means that a loaf can be ready in 1hr 55min.A timer program also means that you can put the machine on the night before and have delicious fresh bread for breakfast.(the timer is 13 hours, which should suit most peoples needs)Bread from this machine is definately worth waiting for.Buy one of these, and you will NEVER buy bread from a supermarket again!Just make sure you keep in pleanty of all types of flour.

A bread machine well worth the hype
Theres nothing like the taste of freshly baked bread - except maybe the smell of freshly baked bread. You wont be disappointed with either. The instruction booklet is easy to follow and tells you that the important thing is to measure out ingredients properly (it comes complete with measuring jug and spoons). All you need to provide are the ingredients and accurate weighing scales. I was pleasantly surprised by the array of breads (and cakes, but I havent tried those yet) you can make with the machine. It has 5 big advantages in its favour :- (1) consistency - every loaf so far has come out fantastic; (2) an overnight timer: bung the ingredients in before you go to bed, and fresh bread will greet you in the morning; (3) a nut / fruit dispenser which puts in additions at the right time. Im currently making Apricot & Walnut Bread; (4) no glass window. Ok, so its nice to be able to see whats going on, but having a glass window (as some machines do) can mess about with the heat and give the top of the loaf an uneven bake. The fruit / nut dispenser is in place of the glass window, so you get a nice even bake; (5) Speed - the bit you do takes 5 minutes or so. Thats it. The baking can take up to 5 hours though, depending on what youre baking. Its slightly more expensive than some on the market but it feels built to last and the results are worth it. All in all, a great buy. Youll love it.

Panasonic just gets better and better
Dont waste your money on any other make - Panasonic is the only one worth buying. The extra initial outlay is definitely worth it in the long run. This latest model makes good breadmaking even easier, with larger loaf sizes and an automatic dispenser for raisins, seeds, nuts etc. With a household of 7, we bake at least once a day and always get excellent results. We like it because we know the children are getting top quality bread in their school sandwiches. The children like it simply because the bread tastes wonderful! Our previous Panasonic breadmaker only breathed its last after getting an inadvertent soaking when a pipe burst. Otherwise it would still be going strong now. These breadmakers are built to last and spares are easy to come by and order.
